Provincially mandated capacity limits and the need for visitors to show proof of vaccination to enter the town's facilities are no longer in place. Self-screening for COVID-19 will replace active screening, and mask requirements will remain in place until further notice, as directed by the province. All facilities are now open, and no appointments are necessary. Wednesday, March 16, marks the start of registration for the spring recreation programs. More than 600 programs will be made available -- ranging from swimming lessons to basketball to yoga classes -- providing new ways for residents of all ages and stages of life to reconnect and get active. Cara Gregory will lead an 'eco-tour' through rain and cloud forests and wetlands of the national parks in and around Rio de Janeiro during the upcoming webinar, planned for March 22 at 7 p.m. It's expected Gregory will offer close-up views of a variety of birds, flowers, butterflies, reptiles, amphibians, monkeys and Capybara during the webinar. The Atlantic rainforest of Brazil is one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world and holds several endemic and endangered bird species.
