Between Jan. 25 and March 25 Durham police reported six pharmacy robberies in Durham, including three minutes apart on Feb. 16. That evening, three men jumped a counter at Devon Pharmacy on Wilson Road North in Oshawa and stole narcotics. Minutes later three suspects struck the Whitby Walk-in Medical Clinic on Brock Street and finally the IDA Guardian Pharmacy on Church Street North in Ajax, where an employee was injured. In October, four suspects armed with knives jumped the counter at Eastview IDA Pharmacy in Oshawa and demanded drugs - two employees suffered minor injuries. In the event of a robbery, Durham police advise pharmacy staff to stay calm, call 911, lock the doors and not to touch anything.
