Catch some great short films for free at the Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, happening every Friday through the season. Opening night on May 6 will feature local music artist Dizzy to kick things off with screenings of "The Best Orchestra in the World" and "This Garden is Yours" in Arthur's on the 4th. The Metro Retro Drive-In provides the opportunity to connect with local vendors, artists and musicians in the community. The event features family-favourite retro films, free movie snacks and an Instagram-worthy photo installation. Pickering is the second stop of the tour, at the Whites Rd Metro location on May 27th. Doors open at 7:30, the movie starts at 9 pm and will end around 11 pm. Events are free, but attendees have the option of donating on- site using Interac Debit contactless payments, with all proceeds supporting local charities and food banks. Metro and Interac will be matching community charitable donations up to $150,000 as part of the program. Interac is committed to supporting small business recovery by encouraging Canadians to #supportlocal. At each local Drive-In, they've built an InLife Marketplace where local businesses will sell their products and services to attendees.
