She was 52 years old and has gone to her eternal home. Dearly beloved wife of Stephen for 32 years. Loving mother of five beautiful kids: Zakary, Stewart, Joshua, Sarah and Emily. She taught her children and people around how to love and respect people from all different walks of life through her support work. She will be dearly missed by all the lives she's touched. DUFFY, Douglas Wilford June 1, 1956, to April 9, 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Doug passed away suddenly, but peacefully of natural causes at home at the age of 65 surrounded by his loving family. He will forever be missed by his devoted, loving wife, Vera and his children, Michael (Kristin) and Lindsay (Kyle). He had a thirst for knowledge and he loved to share what he knew in passionate conversations. He was a lifelong Maple Leaf hockey fan. Doug had a successful career in the Civil Engineering field including working for the City of Oshawa, as Manager of Engineering Services. Doug retired in 2017 after 26 dedicated years with the City of Oshawa. In retirement, Doug spent his time with his family, working on multiple DIY projects, and taking his retirement "One Day at a Time". After moving to Canada from Kingston, Jamaica in 1977, Dalton settled in Oshawa, where he worked for 26 years at the Whitby Psychiatric Hospital (now Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences), before retiring to his garden, scrumptious recipes, ocean cruises and other inspired passions. Despite his final health struggles, Dalton maintained the infectious sweetness of his singing to the very end, and his absence is felt by all those he touched. SOMERVILLE, William December 19, 1923 - April 9, 2022 ------------------ It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William (Bill/Curly) Somerville - April 9th, 2022, at Hillsdale Estates. Bill passed away peacefully with his family by his side - predeceased by his loving wife Anna and daughter Linda Morrison. Bill was a loving husband, a gentleman to the end. Bill will be greatly missed by his two children, Christine Cameron and Bill Somerville, and their spouses Romeyn and Maggie, and by his grandchildren: Suzanne and husband Tony Mills, David Cameron, Fiona Cameron and partner Matt, Kevin and Liam Somerville, Vikki and husband Steve King and Grant Morrison. During his coal mining career, Bill became the site Shot-Firer and headed the search and rescue team for Lanarkshire, Scotland. Bill was a long time Masonic/Templar member and chaired both, he was also the president of the Club Steward's Society of the UK. Bill was the Club Steward at Milngavie, Cathkin Braes and Glasgow Golf Clubs. Bill and Anna also owned a Licenced Grocer in Newmains, Lanarkshire and a hotel owner in Maybole, Ayrshire, Scotland - both Bill and Anna immigrated to Canada in their late seventies to be closer to their children and grandchildren. The family would like to express sincere thanks to all the staff at Hillsdale Estates (Honey Harbour). An incredibly special thank you to the Nurses, PSWs, and the Activities Staff who took such excellent care of Bill. The family will be having a Celebration of Life on Saturday, May 14th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Shriners Club in Oshawa, 1626 Simcoe St N, Oshawa, ON L1G 4X9.
