In the early evening of May 10, 2022, in his 80th year, the final chapter of Jim's Adventure came to a close with Jim reuniting with Lorraine (nee Hilderbrandt), his late wife of 57 years. Although he left this world peacefully you can bet he skidded into Heaven sideways with his halo tilted and perhaps even a little crinkled. Jim is survived by his children, Ron (Bobbie-Lynn Wilson), Dianne Florent (Andreas Hill), Janet Borutski (Reg) and Ryan (Janice Gallwey); grand- children Brandy, Courtney and Jordan Hearne, Tom Florent (Laura), Hunter Florent, Dakota Borutski (Lizz), Rosalie Hearne and Kayla and Mak Nelson; great-grandchildren, Ryleigh Hearne, Reggie and Audrey Borutski and Maverick Florent; brother John (Sheila), step-brothers Glen (Heather) Cooper, Gary (Michele) Cooper and Wayne (Sandy) Cooper; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place and a private family graveside service will take place at St. Matthews Catholic cemetery, Madawaska. At Jim's request there will be no funeral service but a celebration of his life will take place from noon to 4 p.m. on July 30, 2022 at the Madawaska Community Hall, 26A Major Lake Road, Madawaska Ontario, K0J 2C0. James and Diane immigrated to Canada from South Africa. Over the years James' career took him to many places, living in Zimbabwe, the United Kingdom, China and Romania. Those who knew James will remember him for his passion for cars, golf and soccer.
