On Thursday, June 2, at about 2:25 p.m., Durham Regional Police were called to the Pringle Creek Plaza on Anderson Street for a suspicious vehicle with three masked people inside, police said. The suspects were seen inside a pharmacy and fled in a silver Honda Accord when police tried to stop the vehicle. Police said the Honda, which had been stolen in Toronto, took off a high rate of speed, mounting a curb before striking a hydro pole, sheering it off onto a vehicle and a bus shelter. The chase was called off for public safety reasons. Two of the three suspects were arrested by York Regional Police in Markham, and police seized a loaded firearm. Two 16-year-old boys from Toronto face a combined 31 criminal charges, including failing to stop after an accident, possession of a loaded restricted/prohibited firearm, occupying a motor vehicle with a firearm, store firearm - regulation, dangerous operation of a conveyance, flight from police, possessing property obtained by crime and robbery. They were held for bail hearings. The investigation is ongoing and police are looking for a third suspect. YOUTHS FACE CHARGES IN WHITBY ATTEMPTED ROBBERY CRIME Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue to investigate a June 17 shooting in Brooklin that left a man critically injured. Several suspects fled in a vehicle from the scene of the shooting on Underwood Drive, Durham police said in updating the incident. Officers responding to the area just before 4 a.m. found the 26-year-old victim with a gunshot wound, police said. The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition and as of June 17 his condition was listed as stable, police said. "It appears to be an isolated incident at this time and there is no threat to public safety," police said. Police are also currently investigating circumstances surround the shooting of another man who attended a local hospital with a gunshot wound. That man was transported to a Toronto hospital with critical injuries. Police are trying to determine if the two shootings are related. No suspect descriptions are immediately available. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dash cam or home security video that may be of assistance to come forward.
