LEMICK, Lorne Daniel ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ Lorne Daniel Lemick was born on Brewton Road in Scarborough on December 7, 1956 to Alexander and Lillian Lemick. He was raised with a love of sports and played hockey for the Markham Waxers. Lorne loved to reminisce about his father who was his baseball coach and a scout for the Philadelphia Phillies. He shared stories of his many summers at baseball camps. He carried on this legacy with his own girls coaching in the WGSA for 16 years. Lorne was a proud husband of 48 years to Shelley, devoted son-in-law to Herb and Louise Brown, and cherished daddy to Ashlee (Kaelan) and Brittany. His biggest source of joy were his grandchildren Hayden, Jack, Addison and Brody and his spirit will watch over them always. He was the grandpa who would hang up the phone and run to the store to buy whatever they wanted. In every photo of Lorne with his grandkids you can see the pride and twinkle in his beautiful blue eyes. A proud alumni of the University of Toronto and Phi Delta Theta Fraternity, Lorne was a strong man who worked hard to build a beautiful life, and enjoyed the simplicity of things. His favourite nights were spent on the deck in Honey Habour with his family listening to Jimmy Buffett and telling the boats to slow down. He was the type of man who would give you the shirt off his back and ask for nothing in return. He could fix anything at any given moment, and always lent a helping hand to those needing it most. He had a love for sports, Jimmy Buffett and his gold Mustang. All of these memories, moments, friends and family are woven into a beautiful legacy that he left behind. Lorne was a true friend who you could count on anytime. So much so, his childhood friends Bernie and Stan held him in his final moments. Lorne passed away peacefully surrounded by his three girls on Tuesday, June 21 2022 after a heroic battle with complex health conditions. To honour Lorne there will be a Celebration of Life held at Mount Lawn Funeral Home, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby on Saturday, July 16 from 1-4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, Lorne would be honoured if you donated to the education of his grandkids tomer or to the Durham Ukrainian Relief Fundhttps://www.canadahelps. org/en/charities/ukrainianorthodox-church-of-st-johnoshawa/campaign/ukrainianrese t t lement-fund-fo r-the- durham-region/ Rest easy, Bumpa.
