Officers said Sheldon Taylor, 40, of Whitby was taken to hospital where he later died while 28-year-old Kenroy Andre Benjamin of Bolton died at the scene, near the corner of Gateway Boulevard and Queen Street in Brampton. Officers were called to the scene, a parking lot outside the Chandni Convention Centre, at 2:02 a.m. on June 19. Later that day, the manager of the facility said two men had been turned away from the Father's Day ball happening inside due to dress-code stipulations, before an altercation ensued. Police did not have any information about the suspects. Anyone with information about the incident, dashcam or surveillance footage, is asked to call 905-453-2121 extension 3205. WHITBY MAN DEAD FOLLOWING BRAMPTON SHOOTING Two people are dead and three others were injured after a shooting last weekend in Oshawa. Durham police said that on June 25 at 12:45 a.m. officers were called to the BLVD restaurant and bar at Simcoe Street North in Oshawa for reports of shots being fired. Officers found five victims at the scene, each suffering from gunshot wounds. Police said one man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. A second man was taken to a Toronto trauma centre in critical condition where, police reported, he later succumbed to his injuries. Police said the three remaining victims were taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and released. Police are speaking with witnesses and said they would provide a suspect description when one is available. The homicide unit is appealing for any witnesses with video or information to come forward. TWO PEOPLE DEAD AFTER SHOOTING OUTSIDE OSHAWA BAR CRIME Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward as they continue to investigate a June 17 shooting in Brooklin that left a man critically injured. Several suspects fled in a vehicle from the scene of the shooting on Underwood Drive, Durham police said in updating the incident. Officers responding to the area just before 4 a.m. found the 26-year-old victim with a gunshot wound, police said. The man was rushed to hospital in critical condition. "It appears to be an isolated incident at this time and there is no threat to public safety," police said. Police are also currently investigating circumstances surround the shooting of another man who attended a local hospital with a gunshot wound. That man was transported to a Toronto hospital with critical injuries. Police are trying to determine if the two shootings are related. No suspect descriptions are immediately available. Police have issued an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dash cam or home security video that may be of assistance to come forward.
