Celebrates Grand Opening in Oshawa Turns out the Durham Regional Police aren't looking for one new chief, but two. The service's annual Police Chief for a Day is now accepting essays. The contest is open to all students entering Grade 5 in September. The theme of the essay contest is 'What would you do if you were the chief of police for a day?', and each essay is limited to 500 words. All submissions must include the name of student, the name and city of the school the student is attending and the school board the student attends. All essays are due by Monday, Sept. 19, and are to be submitted via email to chiefforaday@drps.ca. The winner will serve as chief for a day in October. For more information, contact Const.
