ORONO FAIR Sept. 8 to 11 Orono Fairgrounds, 2 Princess St., Orono The 168th Orono Fair features a midway, fair food and family fun, including a petting zoo, birds of prey, blacksmith demonstrations and lots of live entertainment. This year's highlights include a Demo Cross show at 7 p.m. on Sept. 8 and 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 11, presented by Impact Motorsports, and a Friday night concert headlined by the James Barker Band. UXBRIDGE FAIR Sept. 9 to 11 Elgin Park, 180 Main St. S., Uxbridge Events on tap for the 2022 fair include a tractor pull at 7 p.m. on Sept. 9 and a demolition derby at 7 p.m. on Sept. 10. You can also find a midway, food vendors, animal shows, homecraft contests, cruise-in car show and performers like Bluegrass Fiddlers and illusionist Lucas Wilson. SUNDERLAND FALL FAIR Sept. 13 and 14 20 Park St., Sunderland This year's fair events include a demolition derby on Sept. 14 at 7 p.m., food vendors, horse pull, pet show, classic car and antique tractor show and competitions ranging from homecraft to woodworking. BEAVERTON FALL FAIR Sept. 16 and 17 Beaverton Fairgrounds, 176 Main St., Beaverton This theme of the 2022 Beaverton Fall Fair is "return to our rural routes" and all the popular events are back, including a demolition derby at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 16, as well as a baby show, car show, horse show, wrestling show, ProRider FMX show and talent show. BROOKLIN HARVEST FESTIVAL Sept. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Grass Park, 41 Baldwin Street, Brooklin Celebrate the start of the fall season at the Brooklin Harvest Festival featuring a farmer's market, petting zoo, wagon rides and kids' zone with inflatable corn maze, interactive activities, balloon artist and scarecrow scavenger hunt. Take in entertainment at the main stage in Grass Park including a Town Crier competition at 11:30 a.m. followed by live music from The Doozies, Tianna Woods and Andy Earle and the Bandits. Businesses and restaurants on Baldwin Street invite fesitval goers to shop sidewalk sales and meet the local owners. PINGLE'S HARVEST FESTIVAL Sept. 10 to Oct. 30 Pingle's Farm Market, 1805 Taunton Rd., Hampton This popular annual event at Pingle's includes a main corn maze and mini toddler corn maze; playland and visits with the animals; wagon rides around the farm; apple picking; a harvest market; live music; and a seasonally inspired menu. BROOKS FALL FUN FESTIVAL Weekends in September and October (including Thanksgiving Monday) 122 Ashworth Rd., Mount Albert Brooks Farms has hosted the Fall Fun Festival for more than a decade. Visitors can check out the farm market, wagon rides, corn maze, farm animals, a huge play area and pick-your-own pumpkins. Visit brooksfarms.com for information. APPLEFEST Oct. 15 Downtown Bowmanville This annual street festival always draws a crowd to celebrate all things apple. Over four city blocks, you can find vendors selling freshly picked apples, apple cider, apple pies and baked goods, cider doughnuts, fresh apple fritters and candy and caramel apples. You can also find artisan and craft markets where local vendors showcase handmade creations in tents lining the streets. Admission and parking are free.
