Grieving his loss are his wife, Ilona Raabe, children Stephan Raabe (Kelly), Tanya Symons (David), Helen Coleby (Alex) and Chris Coleby (Julie) along with his seven grandchildren, Elizabeth, Joseph, Cecilia, Liev, Myles, Ethan, and Elijah in addition to his extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his first wife, Patricia Raabe, and his brothers Ernst and Walter. Born in Paramaribo, Surinam he spent his formative years in Holland, he was the second of four children and followed in his father's footsteps into Engineering. His role in Mining Engineering brought him to Libera, Africa; Cassiar, BC; Logan Lake, BC and Peterborough, Ontario, until he finally settled happily in Whitby. A lover of gardening and travel, he filled his days with time expanding his backyard oasis and exploring different countries with his wife. He loved a good meal and a great conversation, preferably at the same time. Hans enjoyed getting to know people and discovering how they think, whether those people were children, friends, or other travellers. Greatly loved and missed by husband Peter, daughter Jennifer (Matt), granddaughter Maddie, stepson James, stepdaughter Andrea, and dog Cooper. Jill was born on September 21, 1957 in Bowmanville, Ontario and was the beloved daughter of Wren and Elma Blair and sister of Dan (Libby) Blair and aunt to Ryan, Brandon and Laura. Jill is survived by many Blair and Pearce family members as well as close friends from Durham Region, Haliburton, Fort Myers Florida and Kawartha Trails Resort, Peterborough. Jill loved being up North and spent many hours on the lake whether it was swimming and skiing in her younger years, or more recently, boating and riding the seadoo. She had a gift for singing and never turned down a karaoke party. She loved family, friends, laughing, music and warm brownies with ice cream.
