Roberts is celebrating its 50th anniversary with a series of events the weekend of Oct. 21 to 23. Events include a Saturday night reunion social at the Tribute Communities Centre on Oct. 22 from 7 p.m. to midnight and an open house at the school on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. BRYSON PUMPKIN GIVEAWAY Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bryson Insurance, 541 Bayly St, E., Ajax The 15th annual Bryson Pumpkin Giveaway includes lots of free family fun -- a fall photo shoot area, music, popcorn, bake sale, barbecue, raffle table and -- of course -- pumpkins. FIREHOUSE FRIGHT NIGHT Oct. 21 and 22 from 7 to 10 p.m. Watson Farms, 2287 Durham Regional Hwy. 2, BowmanvilleFirehouse Fright Night has been a part of Durham's Halloween season for 15 years; it's a fundraiser for Firehouse Youth Centre and the United Way of Durham Region. This year's event takes place inside a giant corn maze at Watson Farms. Visitors will encounter more than 20 spooky scenes during the 30-minute selfguided trail that includes live creatures, sudden scares and special effects. Free spooky wagon rides to the maze will be offered courtesy of Watson Farms. FEAR FOREST Thursday to Sunday nights until Nov. 4 690 Taunton Rd. W., Oshawa Hosted by Battle City Tactical Laser Tag, Fear Forest is a new event that takes visitors into the woods along a trail filled with frightening scenes. The attraction is recommended for ages 12 and up; anyone 15 years or younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. This venue is also offering Zombie Laser Tag, which sees players try to survive an apocalypse by collecting weapons and supplies and avoiding terrifying zombies played by actors. CANNINGTON HAUNTED ATTRACTION Oct. 21, 22, 28 and 2991 Elliot St., Cannington Cannington Haunted Attraction has become a Durham tradition over the years -- it's non-profit and volunteer based with 10 per cent of ticket sales donated to the Cannington Lions Club. Experience two outdoor wooded trails and an indoor barn maze, all of which are transformed into "immersive horror-themed environments complete with live scare actors and some shocking surprises." You can also find a photo booth, refreshment booth, axe throwing and roaming entertainers and actors. Recommended for ages eight and up. Tickets are $20 per person and available online. FALL FUN AT KNOX PUMPKIN FARM Daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Oct. 31 Knox Pumpkin Farm, 6325 Enfield Rd., Hampton Check out pick-your-own pumpkins as well as a play area, farm animals, mini corn maze and Storybook Trail. Weekends also include pony rides and sweet treats like hot apple cider and kettle corn. Pre-purchased tickets required; visit knoxpumpkinfarm.com for information. PINGLE'S HARVEST FESTIVAL Sept. 10 to Oct. 30 Pingle's Farm Market, 1805 Taunton Rd., Hampton This popular annual event at Pingle's includes: a main corn maze and mini toddler corn maze; playland and visits with the animals; wagon rides around the farm; apple picking; a harvest market; live music; and a seasonally inspired menu. BROOKS FARM FALL FUN FESTIVAL Weekends in October 122 Ashworth Rd., Mount Albert Brooks Farms has hosted the Fall Fun Festival for more than a decade.
