Employees at a Lindsay dealership contacted police after becoming concerned about issues with financing documentation as they were processing a purchase, Kawartha Lakes Police said. Officers were at the dealership Oct. 3 when a suspect arrived to pick up a new vehicle. Alexandra Beamish, 33, of Whitby, has been charged with fraud over $5,000 and personation with intent to obtain property. SIU INVESTIGATING DURHAM CRUISER CRASH IN AJAX A crash involving a Durham police cruiser in Ajax, that left two people injured, is under investigation by a provincial oversight agency. The Special Investigations Unit is looking into the incident that took place around 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 1 on Kingston Road West between Randall Drive and Church Street South. The SIU said a cruiser collided with a Lexus. Three occupants of the Lexus were taken to hospital and one, a 64-year- old woman, was found to have sustained a serious injury, according to the SIU.
