The Clarington boy, 10, is in a new sci-fi horror TV show called "From." "It's pretty scary, so I would say at least be an older teenager (to watch it). My friends don't watch it," Simon said via email. The show is about a family that is on a road trip and gets stuck in a town full of people and creatures. Simon plays the son Ethan Matthews. The character gets badly injured early in the series. The first season of "From" was released on Paramount+ in Canada in late September. Season 2 is filming now in Nova Scotia and expected to wrap up in December. "Acting is something that brings me joy. I am currently filming in Nova Scotia, so I've been learning to surf," said Simon. On a two-week break in filming over Thanksgiving, Simon attended a premiere in New York City for Season 2 of "Chucky." He plays Gary in the first episode, a foster brother of the lead character. "When we were leaving, a group of people were standing outside and asked for my autograph, which caught me off guard. I don't have a signature yet so I just printed my name. Definitely wasn't expecting that! It was such an honour to be a part of the 'Chucky' franchise, Don Mancini is so great to work with," Simon added. When home from acting jobs, Simon lives in Clarington with his parents, his sister Sophia (who is also an actor) and two dogs -- Sam and Saydee. He also voices cartoon characters for several beloved television shows -- including Lucas on "Lucas the Spider" and Alex on "Paw Patrol" -- which he can do remotely. "I love that little spider and all his friends," said Simon. "Voicing cartoons is something I love doing, I'm always trying out voices, but with 'Lucas the Spider' and Alex on "Paw Patrol,' I just use my normal voice."
