Officers responded to reports of a fight near a pub on Brock Street South just after 1 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, Durham police said. "There was a large disturbance involving several patrons and there was mention of a knife being involved," police said. "Police arrested the fleeing suspects nearby." A search of the area by a police canine team led to the discovery of a loaded hand-gun, police said. Charged with firearms offences are Wali Said Zada, 21, of Ajax, Ritchy Francis, 22, of Oshawa and 23-year- old Moreland McNeil, of Ajax. Durham Regional Police photo Police investigating a series of vehicle break-ins in Whitby have released images of a suspect. A man is suspected of breaking into multiple vehicles on Capstan Court in the early morning hours of Oct. 21 and 22, stealing change, keys and a credit card, allege Durham police. The stolen card was used to purchase items at a drugstore later, police said. The suspect is described as a white man in his mid 20s with short brown hair and a medium build. Durham Regional Police photo Police investigating a Dec. 2 stabbing in Whitby have released images of a suspect and vehicle believed to have been involved in the incident. A 51-year-old man was rushed to a Toronto hospital with life-threatening injuries following the stabbing, which oc- curred around 6:30 a.m. in the area of Dunlop and Brock Streets, Durham police said. The suspect, described as a short male with a small build, fled eastbound. Police believe the suspect used a black four-door crossover-type vehicle.
