Delphine "Del" Thompson was a caring wife, mother, grand- mother, sister, and friend. Delphine passed away peacefully, with her family at her side, on December 19, 2022. She was born to Walter and Natalie Harmer on September 19, 1941. After graduating high school Delphine met and married Frederick Thompson on June 2, 1962, and together they raised two daughters. Delphine enjoyed gardening and created beautiful gardens that surrounded her home. She loved to dance, from a polka to ballroom dancing, she always left a lasting impression on the dance floor. She was a loving mother who attended field trips and canvassed annually for the Lung Association. Delphine was an active member of Saint George's Church, a member of the St. Bede's group and she found great comfort in her faith. Delphine was preceded in death by her father Walter and mother Natalie Harmer. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred Thompson, her daughters Justine Thompson- Clarkin and Erin Hainey, granddaughter Hope Clarkin, grandson Liam Hainey, sister Barbara and brother-in-law Paul Widdifield, brother Walter Harmer and his partner Maureen Lamont. She will be remembered as she was in life - a loving mother, unselfish friend and a cherished wife. She will be forever missed. LILWALL, Clive April 18, 1942 - December 18, 2022 ¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Clive Lilwall of Whitby, Ontario on Sunday December 18th, at the age of 80 years. Clive was born in Fleetwood, England, and moved to Ontario, Canada in 1968. He taught Communications at Durham College in Oshawa for 27 years. Clive was a passionate writer and an accomplished author. He enjoyed tennis, travelling, bowling, hiking, carving, and spending time with his cat, Layla. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 34 years, Erika Lilwall; daughter: Karen Lilwall (John MacLean) and stepdaughter Carmen Knight-Wade (Vernon Wade); grandchildren: Joshua, KendraLee, Sidny, John, and Wesley; brother, Nick Lilwall; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Patricia is survived by her brother Michael (Loreto), her sons Richard (Shannon), Robert, Laurence (Dian Riley), her grandchildren Nikki (Gerald Lanchbery), Michelle (Greg Dionne), Cameron (Skye Danilko), Margot (Greg Young), Andrew and David Lafrance (Jasmine Zaba), and great grandchildren Faith, Charlotte, Layla, William, and Clara. She was predeceased by her husband Gilbert (2021) and brother Mark. Patricia was born to Mark and Sally Hanlan in Noranda, Quebec. She originally worked at Noranda Mines where she met her future husband, Gilbert. They moved from Noranda to the Ottawa Valley in 1962, settling in Pembroke, and later in Deep River where Pat worked at the Bank of Montreal, and Walkers Movers. Following a later move to Pickering, Pat worked part-time in several offices before beginning a full- time career at Ontario Hydro Nuclear, where she worked in the Training and Simulator Services Division performing office and administrative work. During her retirement, Patricia enjoyed travel and music with Gil, and loved meeting people and jamming with other musicians. Pat and Gil enjoyed playing piano and fiddle, and sometimes entertained at seniors' homes. Pat was very fond and proud of her family, enjoying their company and their accomplishments. In her final days, she especially enjoyed the artwork decorating her walls from her great grandchildren, Will and Clara. A service will be held in her honour at McEachnie Funeral Home (28 Old Kinston Road, Ajax) on Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at 1 p.m. with visitation from 12 p.m. The service will be live streamed for those unable to attend in person.
