DURHAMREGION.COM /EVENTS A perfect storm of a lack of children's medication and an outbreak of various respiratory illnesses has childhood visits to Durham emergency rooms skyrocketing 300 per cent over the past two months. During the week of Aug. 28 to Sept. 3, Lakeridge Health's four emergency rooms in Ajax-Pickering, Oshawa, Bowmanville and Port Perry saw 62 visits from patients under 18.
