His beloved wife Dawn, his daughter Cory-Lee (Bob), his son Denny (Angela) and his grandsons Trevor and Ryan. Doug also had the pleasure of being a great- grandfather to Emma, Alexis, Rowan and Sloane. Doug retired out of GM after 38 years. Both my parents Doug and Dawn moved back to their old stomping grounds, from Oshawa to Lindsay in 1997, where their hearts and fun, fond memories always made them laugh and smile. Doug was raised in the village of Valentia, not far from, Lindsay where he, his mother (Joy) and father (George) lived, in fact when Doug was just a young boy, you would not think it to be possible, but they moved three times - never leaving the village. Our mother and father kept his childhood home for some years after, using it as a summer home. Our mother always referred it to being "a doll house" where mom loved to decorate it. Our father had a very strong heart, that never wanted to give in. He was raised in the times of show no emotion and tough it out, but he had a loving, emotional heart, that he was always trying to keep at bay, so no would know the truth. We miss you Dad. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to donate, you can to children's hospital or war amps or your local humane society. A sweet little flower, nipped in the bud, no grief or sorrow knew. And have you gone, forever gone and left us here to weep. Till we are called to follow you, and in the grave to sleep. And while you lie in peaceful sleep, your memory we shall always keep. A loving person, so gentle and kind; what a wonderful memory you left behind. Long days, long nights, you bore your pain. To wait for a cure, but all in vain. Till God Himself knew what was best. He took you home and gave you rest.
