Fair additions The 1970s saw the addition of a third day with a bed and bathtub race on Baldwin Street, square dancing in the arena, a police tug of war and, in 1976, the inaugural Miss Brooklin Spring Fair pageant, which crowned Sharon Rice as its Queen. The Fair become a four-day event in the '80s and introduced the midway and Demolition Derby. Today, over 30,000 people enjoy the Brooklin Spring Fair weekend, a testament to the unwavering commitment and hard work of the Fair board as well as volunteers, organizations, and generous sponsors.
