Town Line – The town line school axed up and took part in the great procession held in town to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee; they also competed for the prizes given for the best turnout made by a rural school. The order of procession as follows: very nice black Shetland pony ridden by Master Walter Trull; Messrs. G. Taylor and F. Rowe mounted on black horses; two large nicely decorated wagons containing the pupils, each drawn by four splendid horses driven by Messrs. B. Davy, W. Hall, G. Lee and A. Mackey; teacher and trustees driving in two buggies; last was a beautiful black pony, admired by everybody, driven by Masters Arthur and Edward Jeffrey, with Messrs. Ed. Hall and A. Carruthers walking each side. As this was the only school competing, it is hardly necessary to say which took first place.
