Full Text: Joe Nieuwendyk scored two goals as a member of the Canadian team competing in the Calgary Cup international hockey tournament.

Czechoslovakia, which captured the tournament with a 3 -2 win over the U.S.S.R. on Sunday (Jan. 4) defeated Canada 6 – 3. Nieuwendyk scored Canada’s third goal. He also added a second period goal in a 5 – 3 loss to the United States.

The Whitby native plays for Cornell University. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Gord Nieuwendyk.
