Lori Strong of Whitby recently earned All – American honors on the uneven bars as a freshman member of the University of Georgia women’s gymnastics team.
Strong, 20, two-time Canadian Olympian helped Georgia win the NCAA team championship with a record score.
She was third in the event finals on the uneven bars with a score of 9.95. She scored a perfect 10 on the bars during the team competition.
For the year she won eight gold, six silver and six bronze medals individually.
Academically, Strong, whose major is journalism, made the director’s honors list every semester, with a grade average of 3.66 (out of 4.0).
