Description: A black and white portrait photograph of John Willis Bateman.
Notes: John Willis Bateman was born at Whitby on June 5, 1862 and was a farmer on Hopkins Street for sixty-five years. He was Reeve of Whitby in 1913-1914 and Mayor from 1926-1928. He died during a Remembrance Day Parade at Whitby on November 11, 1948 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
