I am John Vipond's Granddaughter. My history of Grandfather is that he was born in England and came to Canada with his Father and brothers.Information from my Father. They were given Crown land in Raglan. He later moved to Brooklin and bought the property. He was also involved in Provincial politics. Ran as a Liberal and was defeated.I also owned the photograph. I assumed that it was made in Whitby
Hi Helen,
Thanks for your comment. Our records show that John Vipond was born at Raglan in 1849. We have a number of different birth and death notices from the local papers. Perhaps you have a record that could add to the info we have on the Vipond family. Feel free to email me with more information. Thanks, Whitby Archives
The previous information that I gave you is incorrect. Please delete it from comments. The incorrect part is that he came from England with 5 sons. THe rest is correct. Thank you. Helen
