- A black and white portrait photograph of Emily Alice McKay.

- Emily Alice McKay was born in Reach Township in 1878 and came to Whitby in 1890 when her father was appointed Ontario County Treasurer. She obtained the highest standing in English in the Province of Ontario when she graduated from the Whitby Collegiate Institute, and worked as her father's secretary and assistant. After her father, Donald McKay died on May 13, 1914, Emily McKay succeeded him as Ontario County Treasurer and served in that position until December 1947. She died at Whitby on November 6, 1950 and is buried at union Cemetery, Oshawa.
