- A black and white portrait photograph of Reverend Israel Marsh (1797-1855) and Mrs. Eliza Marsh (1796-1858). Reverend Marsh and Mrs. Marsh are pictured both seated, Reverend Marsh has his hands resting on a book on his lap.
- Notes
- Reverend Israel Marsh, son of Reverend William Marsh, founder of the Baptist Church congregation in Whitby, was born at Caldwell's Manor, Lower Canada, on January 21, 1797. He served with his father in the Baptist Church in Whitby Township and moved to Dorchester Township, Canada West, where he died on May 12, 1855. His wife, Eliza Huntington, was born at Bakersfield, Vermont, U.S.A. on May 15, 1796, and died at Ellioto, Minnesota, U.S.A. on June 27, 1858. Reverend Israel Marsh is buried at the Baptist Cemetery, Nilestown, Dorchester Township, Ontario.
