- A black and white photo of John Ard (1854-1931).
- Notes
- John Ard was born in England on August 19, 1854 and after he came to Canada he worked at the McLaughlin Carriage Company in Oshawa and the Hatch Manufacturing Company in Whitby. He was Master of Composite Lodge, AF and AM in 1909 and caretaker of the Whitby Post Office from 1911 to 1924. He died at Whitby on September 11, 1931 and is buried at Groveside Cemetery, Brooklin.
