- Notes
- William Heron Sr. was born at Wighton Shire, Scotland, on January 12, 1792. Jane Crawford was born at Dailly, Ayr Shire, Scotland in June 1796. Together they came to Canada in the 1840s and settled near Ashburn on lot 29, concession 9, Whitby Township. They called their home Dalmore Farm. Jane Crawford died at Dalmore Farm on August 20, 1877 and William Heron died on July 19, 1884. Both are buried at Burns' Presbyterian Cemetery, Ashburn.
