- A black and white photograph of Everett Shortridge (1895-1966). Mr. Shortridge is pictured standing in front of his variety store at 49 Baldwin Street, Brooklin. There is a Coca-Cola sign behind him to the right
- Notes
- Everett Shortridge was born, probably, at Columbus, Ontario in 1895 and was a veteran of both the First and Second World Wars. For many years he operated a drug store and variety shop on the main street of Brooklin. He was popularly known as "the Mayor of Brooklin", although Brooklin had no official mayor. After his retirement in the 1940s he moved to Gravenhurst, where he died on November 1, 1966. He is buried at Mickle Memorial Cemetery in Gravenhurst.
