- A black and white portrait photograph of Richard S. Cormack (1837-1912). This picture is from a frame of portraits of members of Composite Lodge No. 30, AF & AM.
- Notes
- Richard S. Cormack was born at Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland, in 1837. He came to Canada in 1862 and engaged in mining in British Columbia for about 29 years. In 1882 he came to Whitby and operated a book and stationery store on Brock Street South until about 1902. He then worked as a book keeper for his nephew George Cormack Jr., who operated a lumber yard in Whitby. For many years he was financial secretary for Composite Lodge. Mr. Cormack died at Toronto on August 18, 1912 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
