- A black and white photograph of James A. Brown (1852-1922). This picture is from a frame of portraits of members of Composite Lodge No. 30, AF & AM.
- Notes
- James A. Brown was born at Buttonville, Canada West in 1852. He taught public school at Buttonville until he came to Whitby in 1881 to work as principal of the Model School (later known as Dundas Street Public School). The Model School was a school for training teachers. He was Master of Composite Lodge from 1881-1882. In 1909, he retired from his position at The Model School. He then worked for the Ontario Department of Education until 1919. Mr. Brown died at Toronto on May 25, 1922 and is buried at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Toronto.
