- A black and white photograph of Mrs. Lester E. Frankenthal (Anne Elinor Nourse) (1862-1950).
- Notes
- Anne Elinor Nourse, daughter of Charles Nourse and Elizabeth Jane Ham, was born at Whitby on February 14, 1862. She went to school in Whitby and Toronto and studied nursing at St. Luke's Hospital in Chicago, U.S.A. She accepted an offer to start a nursing school at Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago. On November 27, 1899, she was married at Chicago to Dr. Lester E. Frankenthal, a doctor of obstetrics and gynecology at the hospital. In 1890, Anne Elinor Nourse was appointed superintendent of nurses. She died at Chicago on January 13, 1950 and is buried on the family estate near Phelps, Wisconsin.
