- A black and white portrait photograph of Mrs. Richard G. Oke (Sarah E. Emmett) (1862-1936) and Mr. Richard G. Oke (1845-1939). This photograph may have been taken at the wedding of Mr. and Mrs. Oke's daughter Catherine to Charles Broughton on August 23, 1923.

- Sarah Elizabeth (Emmett) Oke was born at Whitby Township, on January 22, 1862 at Almonds in Whitby. She and Richard G. Okw were married at Whitby Township on September 28, 1892. She was Richard's second wife. She died at Whitby on August 13, 1936 and is buried at Union Cemetery, Oshawa.
Richard George Oke was born at Wellcombe, Devonshire, England, on December 14, 1845. He came to Canada with his parents, two brothers and two sisters in 1854 and settled at Almonds in Whitby Township. In 1901 he moved to Whitby and opened a lumber yard at Pine Street and Mary Street, retiring in 1920 when the lumber yard was destoyed by fire. He was on the Board of hte Whitby Methodist Tabernacle for 40 years and was an honourary member of the session. He was involved in the management of Almonds Church before moving to Whitby. Mr. Oke died at Whitby on June 25, 1939 and is buried at Necropolis Cemetery, Toronto. - Date of Original
