Two cars are visible in the background and they are perpendicular to the track. Wheels can be seen near the man in the trench coat and hat.

- On 2 November 1916, a train loaded with mules bound for Montreal was derailed at the junction of the Canadian Pacific Railway and the Port Whitby and Port Perry Railway as a result of an error made by the switchman.
