My cousin, Barbara Buck told me about your web site. We were very happy to see a picture of our grandmother, Beatrice Martha Crawforth(married Charles S. Buck)as a ten year old girl with her family. Thanks, for that, Lucy.

I agree with my cousin, Lucy--it is a wonderful picture and a wonderful service that you offer in posting things like this.

A few tidbits for those who may be interested in family trivia: I remember Aunt Bertha--she seemed a bit stern and no-nonsense, but I have never forgotten the delight of eating her incredible pies! Sadly, Olive, along with many other young people, died in the Great Flu Epidemic. Bea, our grandmother, nearly died--the family story says that they had placed her in the ward for "hopeless" cases, as they had to triaige care, with so many ill. Her father, Mark, vowed he would not let her die and stayed with her for days, nursing her. All her hair fell out in great clumps--she had long red hair--but it grew back, and she saved the hair and made a switch, which she used at times for years until it didn't match her hair colour any longer. She was a remarkable woman--deeply loving and deeply loved. Alma was my grandmother's very favourite sister--her nickname was "Dove." I also remember Sarah--she was always called "Sade"--and her husband, Harold. I always think of Sade in mink, even though I think I only saw her in summers. (They had no children, and Harold had done very well in life, so they didn't see the need to scrimp.)Oddly, I met most of the sisters, but can't recall meeting any of my grandmother's brothers!
