W.A. Dryden was my Great-grandfather.

This is a great uncle of mine. My G-G-G-Grandpa and Grandma were James and Barbara Davidson. Their daughter ,Mary I. Davidson married William M. Miller. They had a daughter who married this man, William Arthur Dryden. So that would make Bruce Gray and I cousins,3 times removed because we have the same G-G-G grandfather, James Dryden!!

Upon further review, it appears that Bruce Gray and I have more than one G-G-G-Grandfather in common!! My mother, Barbara Bruce Hoon's mother was Leanora Davidson Bruce. Her mother was Nora Burnett Davidson. And her mother was Sarah Jane Dryden Burnett. Sarah Jane's father was James Dryden,Grandfather of this man,William A. Dryden. So Bruce and mine's G-G-G-Grandfather is James Dryden. Next...My G-G-G-Grandfather James Ironside Davidson had a daughter,Mary. Mary I. Davidson married William M. Miller ( of the Thistle Ha Farms )and their daughter, who I do not have a name for, married this man,William A.Dryden. That would be Bruce Gray's Great Grandmother. So that would also make James Ironside Davidson Bruce Gray's G-G-G grandfather!! If possible, I would like to contact my cousin, Bruce, (three times removed ) through my E-mail. Thank you Whitby Library for these wonderful pictures.

William A. Dryden was married to Margaret Miller. Their daughters were Mary Louise Willis and Margaret Jean Leaman (mother of Barbara McDougall), and their son was John Dryden.

Hell-o Bruce. I'll try to figure out how we are related. If you search for "Children of James and Barbara Davidson" you will see they had five children. The two siblings at the right of the picture are Mary and to the right of her is her brother John (my G-G-grandad) Those siblings had kids and both of their kids married into the Dryden family. So Davidsons married into the Drydens in that generation. So you and I share the same G-G-G-grandparents.James and Barbara Davidson. We also share another same G-G-G-grandfather, James Dryden. His daughter was Sara Jane Dryden(my G-G grandma)..She married Leonard Burnett and they had my G-grandma Nora Burnett Davidson.(married James B. Davidson) So both of us have alot of scottish canadian genes and two famous G-G-G grandparents. I want to contact the Thistle -ha Farms and meet those shirt-tail relatives. Hope this makes sense. I have a 160 year old picture on glass of Sara Jane Dryden and her sister Ann Eliza Dryden when they were young girls. Hope this message finds you.

Hell-o Canada , It's now 2021 and I love visiting my favorite library and looking at the photographs. So sorry , I may have gotten some information mixed up above but we've got to be cousins, somehow, Bruce. He sure looks like a nice man and what a fun meeting they are having !
