Last Friday night marked another stride in the forward march of New Trier swimmers, the local boys win- ning the Senior and Junior champion- ships in the Interscholastic meet of the Chicago Suburban High School Conference, held in the Kenilworth natatorium, by wide margins. Schaefer, Pope, Stafford and Robins performed with their usual ease and unconcern, sweeping all before them. A new Suburban record for the 160- vard relay of 1:26 2-5 was hung up by the Seniors, bettering the old rec- ord held by Evanston high by :02 2-5. The Juniors placed a new record of 1:06 3-5 for the 100-yard swim and one of 30 seconds for the 40-yard back stroke. World Champions Perform. In the water exhibitions preliminary to the main events, Helen Stafford, a 14-year-old New Trier freshman, swam 40 yards in 27 4-5 seconds. Paul Corbett, a student at Sears Grammar school, Kenilworth, swam 20 yards in 12 2-5 seconds, equaling the best time made in this section for boys under 12 years of age. Charles Pavlicek, intercollegiate back stroke champion and holder of the world's record for 150 yards, swam that distance in 1:59. G. H. Taylor, intercollegiate breast stroke record holder, negotiated 100 yards in 1:13 15. Leslie Jones of ('arter Harrison High school did an exhibition 220-yards in 2:27 flat. One timer only was used.
