Her talk was most inspiring and it is to be hoped that many volunteers for the most important work, will be forthcoming. The min- utes of the preceding meeting, and a report of the Tenth District Federa- tion meetings at Evanston and Rav- enswood were read. The annual meeting will be held April 18. There will be election of officers and music will be furnished by Mrs. Alfred Alschuler. A special meeting wil be held May 2, when Mrs. Ira Couch Wod will speak. After so many notices, the mem- bers were glad to relax 'and laugh| over the very clever comedy read so splendidly by Mrs. F. W. Harnwell of Evanston. Before closing the meeting Mrs. Prouty gave notice of two entertainments to be given at the club. The first, on Wednesday, April 17, is to be a bridge party for the benfit of Jolly Tar club in Kau- kegan. -- The Cook County Woman's Chris- tian Temperance union will hold its Spring Institute in Hemenway Methodist church, Chicago avenue and Main street, Evanston, on Thurs- 'day, April 18. Sessions at 10:30 and 1:30 o'clock. Mrs. Estelle M. North- am, president of the Tenth district Federation of Woman's clubs will speak in the afternoon on "War Savings and Thrift stamps. Prof. W. Z. Cooley will also speak, his sub- ject being, "The Illinois Centennial". The proceeds will be devoted to the Dr. Brown fund, so save all your hot house over- flow, that a goodly sum may be realized. ---- Saturday, May 18, there will be a Garden sale at Community House and all who are contemplating the purchase of shrubs and slips this spring will find a large assortment from which to select.
