LOCAL WOMEN PLEDGE TO SAVE AND SERVE Members of Board of Woman's Club Pass Resolutions to Eliminate all Non-Essentials Pursuant to a report from the Civics (8) committee the Winnetka including the reading excerpts authorized state- ments by Secretary of the Treasury William G. McAdoo and an appeal from President Wilson, resolutions were passed at the last meeting of the Board of the Woman's club to the following effect: "We are resolved that in as much as thoughtless expenditure of money for non-essentials uses up the labor of men, the products of the farm, mines and factories and over-burden- ing transportation all of which must be used to the utmost and at their best for war purposes--that our non- essentials be reduced to the minimum and that each Board member use her from of individual influence to that effect". WAR RELIEF AID FILM WILL BE SHOWN SOON Local residents have been asked to co-operate in the interest of the suc- cess of a photo-drama entitled "Masks and Faces", produced under the direction of the British "Academy of Dramatic Art", by a collaboration of the combined skill of George Bernard Shaw, Sir J Barrie and Sir Johnston Forbes rtson. The proceeds of the play are to go to patriotic causes.
