* } a | Fl ONE STATE SCHOOL, METHODIST PLAN Bishop~ Thomas Nicholson is the chairman of a committee composed of thirty divines of the Methodist Episcopal church in Illinois, which has under consideration the question of combining the colleges fostered by that denomination in this state. These colleges are Illinois Wesleyan at Bloomington, Hedding college at Abingdon; McKendree college at Lebanon; Grand Prairie seminary at Onarga; Illinois Woman's college at Jacksonville, and the Methodist church of the University of Illinois at Champaign. It has been proposed to consolidate these schools at some central point, forming one great school, similar in scope to that of the University of Illinois or University of Chicago. The committee is making an ex- haustive investigation of the question and, if the report is favorable to con- solidation, the state conferences will then solicit bids from eligible cities for the location of such an institu- tion. Bloomington and Springfield are leading candidates and both have made offers. Action will be taken early next year, it is anticipated. If so, I wish to warn you that you will be disappointed in USED CAR values at that time, and give the reason for my warning. With the exception of the Oldsmobile, which has reduced its prices $340 on the open and $415 on closed cars, automobiles are still selling at war prices, which naturally enhance USED car values. 810 Church Street To Automobile Owners EEE EEE EEE ERECTOR OSA Within three months prices on all other large cars will undoubtedly be cut from $250 to $350, and used car prices will then drop a great deal more, due to the lower prices on new cars and also because 75 per cent of the car trades are made in the SPRING. .
