Opened in Chicago Tuesday Mrs. Keene Addington of Lake Forest, who has accepted an appoint-, all ages in various conditions of life-- ment on the Advisory committee for | the Educational campaign = of the Young Women's Christian association, attended the initial conference in Chicago on Tuesday. At this meeting, called by Miss Grace Dixon, state chairman, plans were outlined for the campaign which will be held in February. Prominent women from the entire state are in- teresting themselves in the project to make better known the work of thé organization. Indorsement of the FEducational campaign of the Y. W. C. A. has been given by the Illinois Federation of Women's clubs. Resolutions passed at their board meeting on December 5, at Decatur were read at Tuesday's meeting. These state in part; "Whereas these are days of great industrial and social unrest, and re- adjustment affecting gravely the health, balance and safety of girls, and all agencies concerned with re- construction problems are called up- on as never before to strengthen their constructive and protective work for girls, and "Whereas, the Y. W. C. A. is an organization with fifty years ex- perience in girls' work with a pro-! | gram which seeks to serve girls of the industrial, foreign speaking, col- ored girls as well as others--in Illi- nois as elsewhere throughout the world, "Therefore, be it resolved, that we,! the Board of Directors of the Illinois Federation of Women's clubs in ses- sion at Decatur, indorse the Edu- cational campaign and financial drive of the Young Women's Christian association and that we offer the Y. W. C. A. wherever possible our co- operation individually and through our clubs. Among the Advisory committee present last Tuesday were: Mrs. J. A. Curry, Streator; Miss Mary Wads- worth and Mrs. E. E. Crabtree, Jack- sonville; Mrs. S. D. McKenny, Alton; Mrs. W. P. Topping, Elgin; Mrs. W. S. Miles, Peoria; Mrs. A. Gates Allen, Garden Prairie; Mrs. A. H. Larison, Lincoln; Mrs. Alfred Norris, Prince- ton; Mrs. J. Robert Howard, Mt. Ver- non; Mrs. James P. Catlin, Ottawa. Mrs. William Hart, president of the Illinois Federation of Women's clubs, Mrs. Blanche West of Bushnell; Mrs. E. B. Griffin of Grant Park; Mrs. H. H. Cleaveland and Mrs. C. L.
