The Illinois Federation of Women's clubs was organized in Chicago in 1894 through the influence of Mrs. Charles Henrotin, who was then pres- ident of the General Federation of Women's clubs. During these years the women of the federation have taken an active interest in every undertaking for the general welfare of the people of the state, especially fo rthe women and children, and in many instances they have instituted reforms.
