Huerter Post of the Amer- ican Legion Organized by Gross Point Veterans of World War Last Thursday the ex-service men of Gross Point held their first busi- ness meeting of the newly. organized American Legion Post, known as Peter J. Huerter Post No. 669. The charter membership numbers about one-half of the ex-service men of the community, and it is expected that within a short time a hundred per cent membership will have been reached. In order to reach this goal, every ex-service man of the com- munity is urged to attach himself to the post. The post was organized under the active direction of Rev. Henry Retz- ek, assistant pastor of St. Joseph's parish, a former army chaplain, to whose unbounded enthusiasm and energy the post will look for its future growth and development. The members are to be congratulat- ed on their choice of commander in the person of John B. Golbach, one of the most popular and aggressive young men of the community, under whose leadership the post is destined to become a real potent factor in the activities of the village. Other officers were elected as fol- lows: Vice-commander, John P. Steffens; Finance officer, Peter J. Braun; Adjutant, Philipp J. Sester- henn; Sergeant-at-arms, Philip L. Hillinger; Chaplain, Rev.
