Commuters who habitually linger at the Adams' Pharmacy to chat while awaiting the morning train were disappointed and left out in the heat Friday morning when they found the place securely locked. Subsequent investigation disclosed that Alva Lee Adams, the ever gen- ial proprietor, whose turn it was to "open up", had glanced counterwise at the bedside alarm arrangement and arrived puffing an hour and a half late. Mrs. Adams is visiting relatives in Dundee, Illinois. ATTENTION TO HEALTH Greater attention in the future to the importance in the village of the Department of Health is promised following a discussion of that branch of the village government at last Tuesday evening's Village Council meeting. Definite action ta bring that department up to a standard commensurate with the needs of the village is expected at the next meet- ing of the council. VACATION PREACHER The Rev. Allen Hoben, of Carlton College, will again preach the ser- mon and conduct the services at the Winnetka Congregationdl church Sunday morning at 11 o'clock. On Sunday, July 31, the pulpit will be occupied by the Rev. Oscar Helming of Carlton College. FORD CAR STOLEN J. Q. Syme, 853 Willow street, re- ports the theft of a Ford roadster he had left parked in Chicago Wednes- day evening.
