A. Walsh-First National attraction. In this picture Miss Cooper takes the part of a Spanish senorita, and invests the role with such an air of sincerity and fidelity that it becomes a classic in histrionic powers. Playing opposite Miss Cooper is George Walsh, handsome and athletic, despite overwhelming dangers and ob- stacles. The action is laid in the Spanish possession of Magdalena, where Don Fulgencio, the governor, has ruled for many years with an indulgent and lenient hand, winning the hearts of all. The peace of the land was shattered, however, when the powers higher up, coveting the perquisites of the governor, overthrew him and installed in his place Domingo Maticas, grasping and avaricious. His son, Ramon, falling in love with Maria, determined to possess her--although she was afficianced to Pancho, the son of the deposed gov- ernor.
