'0 NEW HONORS COME T0 NORTH SHORE LEADER W. Frank McClure Joins Big Bond Company Forces W. Frank McClure, 219 Broadway, for three years advertising manager of the Fort Dearborn bank and editor of Fort Dearborn Magazine; this week became direetor of advertising for the : American Bond and Mortgage company of Chicago. The name and good will of the Fort Dearborn Magazine has been purchas- ed by the American Bond and Mort- gage company and, which company will continue the publication under Mr. McClure's direction. Mr. McClure is well known in ad- vertising circles. He is founder and present head of the Chicago Advertis- ing council, and chairman of the Na- tional Advertising commission. In Wilmette and on the north shore Mr. McClure is best known as president of the Wilmette Sunday Evening club which, under his splendid direction, has developed into one of the finest institutions of its type in the United States. Mr. McClure's wide acquaint- ance among speakers of national re- nown has brought to the Wilmette Sunday Evening club some of the best platform; talent available. Mr. Me- Clure is also active in Congregational church circles and is counted among the foremost civic workers on the north shore. KEPT HOME BY ILLNESS C. C. AGAINST MEMORIAL PLAN Fourteen states already have refused financial assistance to the move for a George Washington and World War Memorial building in Washington, D. C., and 16 other states will follow suit, according to the American Legion's legislative committee. The Legion op- poses construction of the elaborate memorial at a time when thousands of ex-service men are jobless and in need.
