Convention Attracts Local Women; Chicago Is Hostess number of prominent north shore women, members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, attended the an- nual state convention, which opened on Tuesday morning at the LaSalle hotel. A reception in the rooms of the historical society took place Tuesday afternoon, and in the evening, there was a delightful address by Dr. Albert J. McCartney. Wednesday morning's session included reports of the state committees, and commemoration ser- vices in honor of deceased members, were conducted in the afternoon. Wednesday evening there was a re- ception and banquet at the hotel and Thursday's sessions were devoted to new business and to the election of officers. Yin Wells college alumnae of Chicago and the suburbs opened a three weeks' campaign to raise their quota of the $1,000,000 endowment fund for their alma mater, 'with a banquet Wednesday evening at the Chicago Athletic club. Graduates and former students in Evanston and the north shore who attended the affair included Mrs. George B.
