BOYS TUNE UP FOR SEASON OF GAPING Kinney's Crew Looks Over Fleet The 1922 boating season will be officially opened next week when a group of north shore boys start work on the spring overhauling of the Ad- venture island camp fleet. Under the direction of Charles A. Kinney the boys will re-calk, scrape and paint the hull of the Dream Girl, paint the small boats, install a new engine in the Ah- wee-nee-tah and build a small fast motorboat for carrying the mail to and from the island. Promise Busy Season The summer promises to be a busy and exciting one on Adventure island. The radio outfit now being built in the school shops will be set up, the entire island and its 20 miles of shoreline explored and mapped, a harbor will be laid out, a dock and lighthouse erected, together with log-cabins, tree houses, shacks, tepees and rafts. Owing to the inexhaustible supply of timber on the island the boys are free to build any type of habitation they may choose. True Isle of Adventure Adventure island (so called by the boys, although it is known on the charts as Chambers island) is covered with old Indian and logging trails for which the boys will attempt to find appropriate names during the summer. At one time the island was inhabited solely by Indians. Jean Nicolet spent a part of a winter with them nearly three hundred years ago. During the past twenty years the only permanent inhabitants have been the caretakers, the lighthouse keepers and hundreds of wild dear. NOTICE PIANO LESSONS FOR BEGINNERS. Tel. T4-1te WINNETKA WEEKLY TALK, SATURDAY, APRIL 8, 1922 THE PHILOSOPHY OF DANTE Modern science tends to belittle the individual to ' discourage him from imagining himself distinct from any- body else, almost from anything else, in the universe; but Dante conceived of humanity entirely in terms of sep- arate souls. Man was insignificant to him, to be sure, in comparison with God, but important in comparison with the world. The sun itself was set in the heavens to "light him home by every path". Today it is just the opposite: man questions God, denies or ignores Him, co-operates with Him, or even creates or evolves Him; but in the face of the physical universe he feels humiliated.
