Well, just this-- When you drive through the North Shore towns at night 'you find the business section of nearly all the towns well lighted. That sort of a reception bids you tarry, bids you look about, and see if the stores have anything to take away your spare cash. A fellow feels more liberal when he is driving his best girl or some of his family around in the evening. Winnetka merchants want the business section of our village well lighted at night; it gives the town a tone, and sometime ago the village superintendent had an attractive cast iron electric light pole installed at the corner of Linden and Elm--just west of the C. & N.
