The name of a grade of lumber may mean much or little. If each individual has his own grading rules, the grades will vary just as indi- viduals vary. But when a group of individuals all agree on one set of grading rules-- then you have a STANDARD. The purpose of a standard is to establish a basis for value. The members of the Chicago Retail Lumber ocalers Association sell Standard Grades of umber. Thus, they can guarantee grade, as well as full measure and uniform quality. For these reasons it is important to buy your lumber from the dealers who use the CRLDA trade-mark. It identifies and guaran- tees the lumber you buy.
